Cafe Weirdo 03:25
I am so excited I’ve seen your face I am so misguided I need a taste Chasing nothing around Looking like a unborn clown In a world of choices We only choose to be or not be Alone (2nd: Staring at your stupid phone) I am so distracted By your apathy If there’s ever anything I can do for you Just let me know I am sick to death with Remembering
2.
Optimistic, pessimistic I don’t think it makes a difference East coast or west coast We are wanting the most Out of life, and it’s all right First place, last place It doesn’t matter if you take First class or coach class We are on the same plane Up in the sky, and it’s flying so high All life brings is golden opportunities All life brings is long, long sunny days All life brings is breakfast in the morning And I am alive for today Input, output The world still stands on your foot Tongue-tied, there’s no time For you to decide When, how, or why we all need a ride Will you ever know how deep the sea can be? Will you ever see how green the trees can be? Will you always be the one who’s there for me In my time of need? Implicit, explicit All you’ve gotta to do is listen Feet first, head first All we do is absurd Hey but you know that It’s a well-known matter of fact Give me gravy, I’m gonna lick my plate clean

My Truth 03:22
Anyone can see it’s time To read between the lines As anyone can feed a flame Or learn to play a game I’ll say it Sometimes I can’t feel my face It’s like it’s been erased But somehow I know I will be When that big old dog stops chasing me Anyone can sleep all day Or stand in his own way As anyone can cut his own hair Or be unaware I’ll say it No one can save me from this Expensive room in a palace I see the sun climb through the blinds As I aim for you, my truth My truth is true My truth is you
4.
Nowhere fast Running low on cash Erase the past Well time is all too real And it’s all anyone can feel Who’s laughing at that? I wanna know Tell me I’d like to know Who’s laughing at that? Who’s laughing? I am at you, you fool You dumb fool What’s the use? Stung by a bee Repeatedly Hold on So independently Passed out on a lawn With only one shoe on
5.
Ode To Self 03:51
Give back what you receive Live life most honestly More time than space is all you need Pay attention to the void Turn off all noises Take no heed of any misery I’ve become something I cannot identify It’s all I can do to enjoy My time on this planet It’s all I can do Give thanks to those who feed See suffering recede Lay back on a cloud of dreams Drift off in fond regard Tall tales written on scars Live longer than anyone prefers to Redefine Rearrange Every ounce of pain is dripping from your eyes But the worry I see is to never say so The sun so soon may set On a man with a fishing net No plan gives him no peace of mind Hunger eats him up inside Hunger is our means to survive Hunger takes what’s given from within
6.
With You 03:13
Baby I am awake I’ve got lots to say Baby I am afraid I can’t stay away And life is passing me by Someday soon I’ll be with you Someday soon I will be With you Baby it’s no use I am still confused Baby it’s no fun Always on the run And life is passing you by They say the grass is always greener On the other side Satisfaction’s guaranteed If you only try But you’ve gotta want it badly Baby what’s the rush What’s with all the fuss Baby what’s the phrase You’d like me to say To stop life passing us by
7.
No ambition, no excuse No demands made on you Nothing doing, no sympathy No position I’d rather to be in with you It seems to me, love is a dream we share (3rd: both share) But we are unprepared For what’s coming No devices, no intent No ill will is all I meant Less aggression, more confession A decision has been made before today The less I know the better off I’ll be I know I need something Something I can’t see Something I believe It’s real simple: eye for an eye Tooth for a tooth will make us all die Total vision, myopia Soon creates dystopia The less I know
8.
Say When 03:00
Feel the fire burning inside you Stay close to me Let it burn until you’ve learned it’s Easier to see A rising tide Preys upon the empty eyes Of your constant alibis Push to shove comes into play I may as well be your friend Until you say when Come again Suggestions, you’ve learned lessons You know history Well opinions, they are like onions They make me cry sometimes Letting off some steam, you scream In a long distant way Nothing new to say At the end of the day We’re all searching for something Something we can’t find Lost in the rhythm and blues inside our private lives The private lives of you & I
9.
Put Upon 03:28
Back in the day When we were young with nothing to say Going through a phase Couldn’t find our way out of a paper bag That’s what they all say If you don’t act your age It’s a game we never wanted to play Melody plain You have so many different names They all sound the same All the same you never change A moth into a flame Who only wanted fame Such a shame, it’s such a crying shame “Get in line,” they say No way, Jose “Shut your mouth and Swallow the pills we gave you” It’s insane Living like this Being at all Minutes turn into hours Into days Into months and months into seconds Seconds turn into years Into lives Into earth and memory So please Please don’t leave me this way I promise to always behave From now on
10.
You can say it loud You can write it down You can sing it slow My heart cannot be told (3rd: You ought to know) Long living in a daze Feeling a million miles away from OK Focusing on the rain I know why hearts cannot be told Hearts cannot be told Young or old Something you saw you’d see It’s something you knew you’d know so long ago Something you felt you’d feel I know why hearts cannot be told Hearts cannot be told Young or old It’s a bad idea Listening to the voices in your head They’re so unclear Just focus on today instead You’ll be OK Someway No cigarette will fix anything No whiskey will undo anything for you No pillow can remove I know why hearts cannot be told Hearts cannot be told Young or old

about

Mercy Wizard began in the summer of 2006 as the solo acoustic project of Mike Luz, evolving over the years into a catch-all for his various solo sonic forays, from electro-pop to ambient sound baths. Mike has returned to Mercy Wizard's acoustic roots with the release of "Big Noise", a collection of 10 intimate acoustic performances self-recorded live in the middle of the night at his home in Maine. The songs reflect years of playing and reworking, trying and tweaking, changing and unchanging. Accompanied by the natural ambience of midnight critters along with a constant haunting synthetic reverberation, the songs on "Big Noise" are composed of reactions and absorptions, memories and impulses, doubts and hopes. Equally effective as either a headphone soundtrack or background music at a social gathering, Mike's voice and strum fuse in a seamless and tuneful distillation of psychic energy.
